The Time Traveler

Man, it's been a busy month. I finally got a break to make a proper card for the time traveler. I created him for the most recent Low Poly challenge at the Polycount forums but I ended up missing the turn-in date on account of being at Siggraph. Either way, I'm still quite pleased with how he turned out. I had a lot of fun making this guy, especially when I got to channel my love for Back to the Future into the design.

Low Poly Demo Reel 2010

Here's my reel for Siggraph.

I wanted to include more ZBrush work but unfortunately I couldn't get them to an acceptable level of completion before Siggraph.

I'll be posting a ZBrush reel soon enough.

Greetings from Siggraph!

A quick painting I was working on using the new Cintiqs.

I've got a new demo reel so I just need to go back to my hotel and upload it next chance I get. Expect to see it soon!

Harvey the Pool Cleaner

I spent the better part of today marathoning this guy and boy am I pooped!
This guy was a doodle in my sketchbook that I decided to model of for a low poly challenge. Harvey by himself came out to 498 tris, while his cigarette and pool net added the remaining 48. The texture was painted at true resolution and the whole thing took about 12 hours to complete.

Now it's time for a break.

June Summers

Finally finished up June. Modeling the hair was a real challenge but I'm very pleased with the outcome. I wanted to play around with some shaders to see if I could mimic Team Fortress 2's look, but I could quite get it to look right. I'll save that for another time.

Recent work dump

One of the first characters I designed while in college. This particular drawing was done early this year.

Currently being modeled on. Still not quite settled on the current color palette. I might stick with the original blue. A redesign of my character in this video.

Character I modeled last year. Tightened up the textures up a little bit recently.

One of my favorite characters from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Turn around time was about 5 days.
